The story behind the name
These handmade macramé earrings are a best seller of the artisan who makes them, Douglas. They are called “baiana” (buy-ah-nah) earrings as an homage to the women of Bahia, or “baianas”. According to Douglas, the flowing and rounded shape is meant evoke the shape of the baianas in their traditional attire.
