Capim Dourado Ball Earrings
$10.00 USD
Capim dourado, or “golden grass” in English, is virtually synonymous with Brazil handicrafts. This durable plant grows only in the Jalpão region of the state of Tocantins in northeastern Brazil. The tradition of making jewelry, purses, and handicrafts from capim dourado was passed on from the indigenous population there to the immigrant settlers and now the making and selling of these handicrafts with the sustainably-harvested capim dourado from that region is a key economic activity in that part of Brazil.
