I bought my first wind spinner in 2013 on my first trip to Bahia — I was mesmerized by the spinning pattern and fascinated that the wooden sticks manage to retain their spiral shape (waxed string, FTW). These new ones go one step further with colorfully dyed branches and truly provide a piece of hanging art. We have our own in the corner above the TV where the breeze from the veranda or the ceiling fan can catch it and lightly twist it.
Best suited for indoors or an area without a lot of wind so the spiral will retain its shape. The cord used to tie the sticks is waxed so that the wind spinner will retain its spiral form without any need to re-twist.
